From the outset of all our contracts one of our key concerns is sustainability. We always try use sustainable materials, sourced locally wherever possible.

We are constantly challenging ourselves to find new products and develop better ways of building responsibly. For instance, we here at Fletchrose were struck by how much readily recyclable waste material we were throwing into our skips on an average contract. Now we all recycle our daily household waste, so why shouldn't we recycle our building and other waste too?
We approached a number of companies with our ideas for how we could recycle the content of our skips and avoid the need to use landfill. Working with our partners we are now recycling over 90% of the waste created on all of our contracts - just another example of how Fletchrose are continuing to raise the benchmark.
We have taken steps to ensure that our timber is sustainably sourced wherever possible. Wood is a highly sustainable building material: when a tree is felled, it continues to store carbon for the remainder of its life as a wood product or in part of a building.
At present over 90% of the timber that goes into an average Fletcrose building contract is FSC or PEFC certified, meaning that it comes from sustainably managed forests. We are working with our suppliers to reach our target of 100% sustainably sourced timber in the near future.
The planting of new trees in is very important to us all. We have made small but sure steps to offset our carbon footprint by every year planting 100 plants on rural land in Wales. We know this is minimal but combined with sustainable product procurement it pushes us all to think of what else we can do at home and in the workplace to alleviate the damage we are doing to this planet on a daily basis. A typical tree will absorb 0.9 tonnes of carbon for every cubic metre of growth, helping to reverse the growth in our carbon emissions.
It is important to maintain a constant comfortable temperature in your loft area throughout the year. Fletchrose uses high-performance insulating board which is CFC/HCFC free. We encourage our customers to choose natural insulation products wherever it is practical to do so. Black Mountain Insulation make their own natural sheep's wool insulation in their North Wales factory. Natural sheep's wool insulation requires only 15% of the energy needed to produce synthetic alternatives, offers a longer life-span, and has improved thermal and acoustic insulation properties compared with similar man-made products.
Beers Timber & Building Supplies has had a presence in Liverpool since 1916 and is now run by the fourth generation of the same family. Once one of 200 timber importers in the then thriving port, we are now one of only two remaining... .
